I was born in Roswell, New Mexico in 1950. I grew up there and in Colorado. I attended the University of Denver and University of Stockholm to receive a BA in English Literature. I taught English in Japan for 3 years (1973-1976) . I returned to Arizona in 1977 where I attended Thunderbird ( American School of International Management) and earned an MBA. I have since worked as an international banker, and started or co-founded several companies : an import/export firm, an apparel importer and a domestic Swimwear manufacturing company(bikinis). I have also worked for a number of large software companies and for the last 14 years have been one of two managing partners at The BlackIron Group, a software integration and implementation consulting firm. Over all that time I have always created art. For the last 20 years I have maintained a working studio in New Hampshire. I live in New London , NH with my wife Patti O'brien and our Portuguese Water Dog - Seamus.
